its 12:30 in the morning.....

and I just finished my second draft of proof two for the thesis paper. Whoo hoo!

Now, I probably only have to edit that portion of the paper one more time before its ready!

Now................ on to proof three....................

Gotta love high school.

A map

Sometimes, people ask: "So what are you going to do?"

And then you start to worry. You have big dreams, but they aren't very practical. You don't have a map.

And then, by God's grace, you remember: "In his heart a man plans his way, but the Lord ESTABLISHES his steps."

You rejoice, because you don't need a map to answer "What are you going to do?" because what your steps are established by the Lord. You only need to be able to answer: "Who are you going to be?" Because that is what matters anyway.

These pictures were taken last summer in Ethiopia.

When someone says "Ethiopia", or, "Africa", particularly referring to the Eastern and Horn of Africa area, what do you envision? Famine? Deserts? Desolation? Barren land? Death?

While all of these things are accurate descriptions of some parts of of Africa some of the time, my love for Eastern Africa and the African people drives me to want my friends and family to see the beauty of Africa. So, a little mission that I have whenever the opportunity presents itself is to share the beauty that the Lord has given to His children in Africa.

"The Earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world, and those who dwell there in, for He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers."

~Psalm 24:1~

There is no part of the Creation that does not reflect the glory of the Lord. Even in the wilderness, we see His face. And usually it is in the wilderness that we see Him most clearly of all.

Wednesday

Wednesday on the Trampoline

Every Wednesday I babysit this totally adorable but very strong willed and expressive little girl who I love to pieces. And she never fails to say something beyond hilarious each week. My mom suggested that I blog about my time with her every week so that I can go back and read all of the funny things she said. Here I'll call her Wednesday.

Today I babysat another little girl along with Wednesday.

Other Girl: (Singing)

Wednesday: That is just scribble scrabble singing, you're just making it up and it doesn't even have words!

Me: Wednesday, don't be mean, her singing is beautiful.

Wednesday: She is just making it up!!!

Me: Making up songs is good! Your dad makes up songs all the time that we sing at church.

Wednesday: No he doesn't! He just thinks of them and writes them down!




BAHAHAHAHA!

Glad we're all clear on the difference between making songs up and "just thinking of them and writing them down"

Names... again :)

So, I just finished reading Sir Walter Scott's The Talisman.

Fabulous. Absolutely amazing. One of my very favorite books I've ever read.

ANYWAY,

the heroine's name in the book has caused me to ponder more baby names, as I have said that I am wont to do quite often. :) I LOVE the character, she is the best example of a chivalrous women in any story that I've ever read.

Well, what do you think? I've never liked it before, but I'm kind of head-over heels in love now.

Isn't it interesting how a character or a person can totally change the way you think about a name?

Oh, and Edith means "Rich Battle" or "Prosperous in War"
